A Saturday fire caused significant damage to one house and moderate damage to a neighboring house in Mexico.
There were no injuries, and the fire remains under investigation, according to a release from Mexico Public Safety Department.
Just after 9:50 p.m., MPSD responded to the 700 block of Union in reference to a structure fire, according to a release from MPSD. Responding personnel found flames coming from the front of a house, with the fire having already destroyed the front deck, and the fire had moved into a partially finished attic and was burning a nearby tree.
The fire was brought under control and extinguished, with the house suffering significant fire damage and a neighboring home suffering moderate heat damage. The resident was not at home at the time of the fire.
