Gary Wayne Westbay, 77, of Centralia, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Avery conducting the service.

The family has requested that masks be worn.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Westbay was born on June 30, 1943 in Durham, N.C. the son of Calvert and Ruth (Bradley) Westbay. On Feb. 8, 1965, in Englewood, Calif., he married Sherry Lappi.

Gary loved teasing and joking with his grandchildren. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and trapping with his good friend Dub Foreman. Gary was an employee of A.P. Green Refractories for 37 years. He enjoyed going to both the Centralia and Mexico senior centers. He attended the Church of God (Holiness) in Mexico.

Survivors include his wife, Sherianne of the home; two children, Pamela (Stan) Scott of Centralia and Chad Westbay of Kansas City; one sister, Carol (John) Blunt of California; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Calvert and Ruth Westbay; one son, Gary Westbay, Jr.; two brothers, Calvert Westbay, Jr. and Ronald Westbay.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Centralia Senior Center or Church of God (Holiness) of Mexico. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico.
