Fall sports teams in the area have and plan to participate in several preseason jamborees prior to the season starting for many this week. Mexico softball was one of these teams as it hosted Palmyra and Marceline, splitting the day with a 6-1 victory against Marceline. In other preseason action from the weekend, Mexico boys soccer played Fulton, Hannibal and Moberly in a Fulton jamboree, Mexico and Van-Far football were involved in the Monroe City jamboree. Missouri Military Academy soccer played in a jamboree at Father Tolton and Centralia football was at a Moberly jamboree. Community R-6 softball played Monday in Montgomery County and tied Montgomery at 2 and defeated Silex 8-7, the softball and volleyball teams at North Callaway and Centralia competed in Centralia jamborees on Tuesday, and Mexico volleyball went to Cuba on Tuesday.
