GFWC Mexico Women’s Club met on Dec. 9 at the YMCA Café with President Gailyn Fennewald presiding. This was the annual Christmas party and gift exchange and was hosted by members of the Arts and Culture Committee: Lana Parmenter, Lara Ryan and Jackie Hanke. Their project was the donation of warm hats and gloves to be given to the Help Center.
Members planned a visit to Missouri Girls’ Town for a party for the girls on December 9. The girls will make wreaths as their craft and snacks will be provided by GFWC members, Valine Perll, Bev Borgeson, Carolyn Dragoo and Connie Robley. The residents will be given gift cards as Christmas presents.
Donations were collected for Missouri Girls’ Town, Our Safe Place and Audrain County Public Health.
Poinsettias were sold by members in October and November and were delivered on Saturday Dec. 7. Club members appreciate everyone’s support of this fundraiser. The proceeds help support the many philanthropic endeavors of the club.
The next meeting will be Monday, Jan. 13 at 12:30 p.m. at the YMCA.
