GFWC Mexico Women’s Club met on Dec. 8 at the YMCA Café with President Gailyn Fennewald presiding.
The meeting was hosted by members of the Arts and Culture Committee: Lana Parmenter, Lara Ryan and Jackie Hanke. Their project was the donation of feminine products to be donated locally.
The program was the club’s Christmas party and gift exchange. Lunch was catered by Bucky’s Sit or Get.
Members donated items to give as Christmas gifts for the residents of Missouri Girls’ Town. Members also hosted a Christmas Party for the girls on Dec. 15.
Donations were collected for Missouri Girls’ Town and National Organ Donor Association. Snacks and small gift items were also donated to be used by residents of Teal Lake Assisted Living. Sherry Medley and Cheryl Slagle will provide birthday cake to the residents of The Arbors on Dec. 19.
Members were praised for their hard work selling poinsettias; 174 were sold. The proceeds help support the many philanthropic endeavors of the club.
The next meeting will be Monday, Jan. 12 at 12:30 p.m. at the YMCA.
