Gage Gibson was a dangerous weapon for Van-Far football this season.
After being a big part of the Indians’ much improved 6-5 season, Gibson was named as an all-state second team athlete after amassing 1,358 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns, making him the first all-state Indian since Bryson Lay as a returner in 2020. Van-Far had nine all-district selections for Class 1 District 2, including two players receiving two nods each, according to an announcement earlier this month.
Gibson is all-district as a running back after running for 941 yards and averaging 5.3 yards per carry and also earned a spot as a linebacker after finishing with a team-high 67 tackles, four tackles for loss/sacks and two interceptions. Fellow senior Nikos Connaway was added to the all-district team as a quarterback and punter after compiling 1,683 scrimmage yards and a team-high 19 touchdowns — throwing for 979 yards.
Evan Utterback is an all-district defensive end after finishing with 42 tackles, a team-high 18 tackles for loss/sacks and a forced fumble, Easton Sharp was recognized on the defensive line after 28.5 tackles and five tackles for loss/sacks, and Dalton Hays joins Gibson as an all-district linebacker after 41 tackles, three tackles for loss/sacks and a forced fumble.
Jackson Fischer is an all-district offensive lineman, and Gaven Gaston was added as a wide receiver after 18 catches for 380 yards for five touchdowns and a team-high 21.1 yards per catch.
