Matt Gowin has joined First State Community Bank in Mexico as Senior Community Banking Officer, according to a news release issued by FSCB.
Gowin began his banking career in 1992 as a credit analyst. Since then, he has served in a variety of banking roles, including Retail Services Director, commercial and real estate lender, and bank president at banks across central Missouri.
“Joining FSCB has been a breath of fresh air,” Gowin said in the release. “It gives me the opportunity to meet new teammates and collaborate with great people who are committed to serving our customers. First State Community Bank has a long history of success, and I hope to make meaningful contributions to that success in the future. I enjoy working with others and believe a positive office environment is essential to retaining good employees.”
In addition to serving customers, Gowin has been active in the community through organizations including the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce and Rotary International. He serves as chair of the Mexico Housing Ad Hoc Committee, is an advisory board member for the Missouri Women’s Business Center and belongs to the Mexico Village Square Association.
“Matt brings extensive banking experience, strong community relationships, and a reputation for putting clients first. His professionalism, confidence, and servant-hearted approach make him a great addition to the FSCB team,” said Ron Hopkins, President of FSCB Mexico. “We are excited for Matt to strengthen client relationships and support our community banking efforts. His experience and local connections will help us continue delivering exceptional service and growing our presence in the community.”
Outside of work, Matt enjoys cooking, listening to live music, and spending time with his wife, Dr. Amanda Gowin, and their blended family of three daughters and a son.
