Indians maintain lead until 58-43 win over Macon at Moberly Holiday Shootout

The Van-Far boys had a great start Saturday.

The Indians shut out Macon 16-0 in the first quarter before eventually winning 58-43 in the Moberly Holiday Shootout at Moberly Area Community College. They recorded 11 steals and held on to their lead for the entire game despite allowing eight 3-pointers by Macon (1-8). Pacey Reading led Van-Far (11-1) with 21 points, nine rebounds and three steals, Evan Utterback followed with 13 points and five rebounds, Carson Huff had 10 points, and Gaven Gaston finished with nine points and three steals. Evan Newland led Macon with 13 points and three 3-pointers.

Van-Far plays next at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at home against Eastern Missouri Conference foe Elsberry (3-4, 0-1 EMO).
