Editors note: The correct donation amount to Mainstreet Mexico has been updated.
The Salty Heifers Co. had a truckload of charity to unload last week.
Proceeds hauled in from another successful Mexico Jeep Thing were donated directly to three local organizations. The Salty Heifers were able to give $2,000 to the Missouri Veterans Home – Assistance League, $10,000 to the Central Missouri Veterans Monument Foundation, and $2,000 to Main Street Mexico.
Mexico’s Jeep Thing has grown since its inception in 2025 and each year, Salty Heifers Co. is able to donate more. Due to its success, the event will be returning for its third year on June 26, 2027.
“Mexico Jeep Thing is going to take a completely different turn and it’s going to be something totally different next year,” said Barb Jones, co-owner of Salty Heifers Co.
