Jerome "Jay" Seigfreid, 72, of Laurie, Missouri, passed away on June 7, 2025, in Ocala, Florida, from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Jay was born on November 15, 1952, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and raised in Mexico, Missouri. He earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Missouri.
Jay and his beloved wife, Suzanne Seigfreid, shared a life full of adventure, living throughout the Midwest while Jay served as CEO of many rural hospitals. His career later took them to Alaska, where he became Vice President for Quorum Health Services. During their time in Holdrege, Nebraska, Jay was instrumental in establishing a YMCA for the community. In Laurie, Missouri, he became a dedicated member of the local Elks Lodge, serving in numerous leadership roles.
Jay is survived by his wife, Suzanne; sons, Ryan and Jordan; and granddaughter, Clare and his siblings Sally Harner, Paul Seigfreid, and Ann Kovar. He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Seigfreid in April of this year.
