Mexico's defense held on to victory on Tuesday.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated Eugene 2-1 on Chris Hotop Field in Mexico despite allowing a goal with about five minutes left in the game. Mexico (6-10) built enough of a cushion after Bella Cummings' header went in off a pass from Zoey Norton in the 53rd minute and snapped a four-game home losing streak. Emily Moppin scored in the 32nd minute for the first half's only goal. The Lady Bulldogs outshot Eugene (9-7-1) 12-4 and recorded 10 shots in the first half, including seven on goal.
Mexico (2-5 NCMC) hosts North Central Missouri Conference leader Hannibal (11-4, 7-0 NCMC) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
