Lady Bulldogs huge comeback falls short in 70-64 loss to Palmyra

What was once a 30-point deficit was a 60-point tie. 

The Mexico girls trailed by as much as 30 points to Class 3 No. 10 Palmyra on Tuesday at home until tying the game at 60 with 2:51 left in the fourth quarter and eventually losing 70-64. Sydney Compton scored 25 of game-high 34 points for Palmyra (10-8)in the first half along with hitting five 3-pointers and finishing with four steals. Palmyra's other senior Clare Williams had 24 points and five steals. Mexico (8-8) senior Claire Hudson had a near triple-double with 15 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, Scottie Smith had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, Kenley Jones added 12 points, and Alyssa Miller had 11 points and five assists.

Mexico plays at Southern Boone (5-10) at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
