Posted

Mexico couldn't get back on track after early struggles on Wednesday at home.

The Lady Bulldogs lost 10-2 to Elsberry (11-3) after allowing nine runs in the second, third and fourth innings and finishing with four hits. Kenzie Koch struck out eight Lady Bulldogs (11-8) in seven innings and went 2-for-2 with four runs and a two-RBI home run at the plate. Lizzy Mound also hit a two-RBI home run for Elsberry to help snap Mexico's four-game winning streak. Aleigha Henderson had a RBI hit, Scottie Smith had one RBI and Hannah Loyd walked twice but had her three-game home run streak broken.

Before the game, each Lady Bulldogs walked out to Gallop Field with a teacher they admired for teacher appreciation night.

Mexico is the No. 4 seed in the California Turf War Tournament this Friday and Saturday. It begins play at 5 p.m. Friday against No. 5 seed Eldon (13-3).
