Lady Bulldogs roll through Moberly for 7th straight win

Mexico softball kept up its winning ways on Thursday with yet another victory in the North Central Missouri Conference. The Lady Bulldogs won their seventh straight game and seventh in NCMC play after defeating Moberly 17-7 in six innings at home, moving to 14-9 and 7-1 in conference. Karlee Sefrit had the RBI single to trigger the run rule, finishing 2-for-5 with four RBI, and Hannah Loyd led with five RBI, including a two-RBI triple that turned into a Little-League home run thanks to one of eight Moberly errors. The Nos. 6-8 hitters of Kenley Jones, Landri Teel and Emma Cunningham went 6-for-10 with five runs, three RBI and two walks, and Cunningham added 2 2/3 shutout innings pitching in relief with four hits allowed.

Mexico has two games in Ashland on Saturday at 10 a.m. against Class 3 No. 9 Southern Boone (11-9-1) and 12:15 p.m. against Palmyra (6-9).
