Paris didn't have much go on offensively against Ashlyn Noah but picked up all it needed in the fifth inning.
The state No. 8 Lady Coyotes (21-6) defeated Clopton (13-11) 4-3 in the Class 1 District 4 semifinals on Saturday at Community R-6 in Laddonia. They scored all their runs in the fifth inning and also had four of their five hits in that frame. Paris advances to its first district championship game since 2001 as it focuses on state No. 7 Community (21-11) at 6 p.m. Monday in Laddonia. Sisters Emma and Kennedy Ashenfelter had RBI singles prior to Reese Sutton clubbing a two-RBI home run to give the Lady Coyotes the lead for good. Kennedy Ashenfelter allowed one earned run on six walks and five hits in seven innings.
