The Paris girls took a break from their winter break to win a game.
As has been the case the past three years, the Lady Coyotes played in the Moberly Holiday Shootout at Moberly Area Community College on Friday. Unlike previous years, Paris won its game 45-32 against La Plata (5-3), who Paris (8-3) lost to at MACC the past two seasons. The Lady Coyotes allowed less than 40 points for the fourth straight game, leading the Lady Bulldogs 25-12 at halftime. Paris closed the first half on a 10-0 run, capping the stretch with a Melanie Moore 3-pointer at the buzzer. Moore led Paris with 13 points, Reese Sutton followed with 10 points, Alyssa Webb had eight points and Gretchen Crusha finished with seven points off the bench. Mylie Morse led La Plata with 11 points and was followed by Emmagin Travis' 10 points.
Paris plays host Salisbury (4-4) in the first round of the Salisbury Invitational Tournament at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 7.
