Lady Indians lose both games in home triangular

Posted

Van-Far couldn't put everything together in both games on Saturday.

In the Lady Indians' home triangular, they lost 5-0 to Jamestown after striking out 10 times and hitting safely five times and dropped an 18-8 game to Palmyra (4-3) in six innings despite finishing with a season-high 15 hits. Zoey Borts hit a 3-RBI home run for Jamestown (3-2) to put a blemish on a solid seven innings for Adyson Barnett, who allowed four earned runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts. Palmyra scored seven runs in the second inning and had three girls with three RBIs while Van-Far (0-6) had two RBI each from Elliott Utterback, Ashlynn Grammer and Kenya Jones.

Utterback and Grammer each went 2-for-4 against Palmyra, Mylee Keller finished 3-for-4 with three runs, and Ashlyn Marshall was 2-for-3 and hit her first career home run. Utterback was 3-for-3 with a double against Jamestown.

Van-Far hosts South Callaway (0-2) at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
