The Van-Far girls have won four games.
That was the Lady Indians' win total at the end of last season, but they have that much before the end of the calendar year following a 44-37 victory over Moberly (2-5) on Friday in the Moberly Holiday Shootout at Moberly Area Community College. Van-Far (4-5) outscored the Lady Spartans 14-4 in the fourth quarter after trailing 33-30 going into the final quarter, winning its first game at the Moberly shootout after going 0-3 the last three years. Elliott Utterback hit two 3-pointers to put Van-Far ahead and her free throws, as well as foul shots from Carly Hunn and Mylee Keller, kept the Lady Indians ahead. Utterback led with 21 points and had six rebounds, Chloe Zumwalt followed with 11 points and eight rebounds, and Hunn and Keller each had five points. Kyia Tydings led Moberly with 11 points, 11 rebounds and five steals, Ariyonna Gross had 11 points and four steals, and Olivia Dunwoody finished with 10 points.
Van-Far plays at South Callaway (3-4) at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 9.
