The Centralia girls made it more decisive than last year.
The Lady Panthers defeated Montgomery County 47-39 in last season's district championship game and beat the Lady Wildcats again on Saturday in Centralia for the Class 3 District 7 title by a 64-19 score. State No. 3 Centralia (27-1) repeats as district champion and surpassed the 26 wins of last year's Class 3 third-place team with its 27th victory. After one half, Centralia led 36-4 and carried a 37-1 run in between Montgomery field goals. Braylin Brunkhorst almost finished with a triple-double at 21 points, nine rebounds and nine assists along with seven steals. Ryenn Gordon followed with 10 points and three steals, Ealynne Bostick had nine points, Madi Johnson had nine points on three 3-pointers and Bailey Schuering added eight points. Emma Rodgers led Montgomery (15-12) with seven points.
Centralia hosts the Class 3 District 8 champion Father Tolton (8-18) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
