Centralia couldn't take a set against its rival on Wednesday night.

The No. 6 seed Lady Panthers were swept (25-18, 25-23, 25-12) by No. 3 seed Hallsville (19-11-2) in the first round of the Class 3 District 7 tournament in Hallsville. After losing the first set by dropping eight of the last 10 points, Centralia (10-19-2) lost the second set despite taking a 22-16 lead. Centralia career kills record holder Ryenn Gordon finished with 12 kills to set the school season record with 383 this season, topping her 366 mark a year ago. Centralia finished with seven blocks and only had three service errors.

"They run a really quick offense," head coach Julie Crum said. "When they got a hold of the ball, it came down fast and my girls were frozen and weren't pushing to the ball. That made a big difference."

Centralia finishes as a co-champion in the Eastern Missouri Conference with North Callaway and Wright City for its second straight conference title. The Lady Panthers posted its sixth straight double-digit win season.
