The Community R-6 girls continued their defensive tear on Friday at home.
The Lady Trojans defeated Central Activities Conference foe Slater 59-28, holding their fourth straight opponent and sixth opponent this season under 30 points. Community (7-2, 2-0 CAC) scored the first 15 points, led 22-5 at halftime and finished 20-for-32 at the free throw line. Aaliyah Welch led with 17 points (6-for-9 on free throws), seven rebounds and four assists, Kat Meyer had 12 points (4-for-6 on free throws) and Jocelyn Curtis had nine points (3-for-6 on free throws) and six rebounds. Madison Prysock led Slater (1-5, 0-1 CAC) with 15 points.
Community plays at conference foe Sturgeon (2-2, 1-0 CAC) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
