Ladybirds reach 20 wins on Senior Night, defeat Mark Twain 13-6 after big inning

North Callaway reached a point they hadn't in six years.

The Ladybirds defeated Eastern Missouri Conference foe Mark Twain (15-14, 3-6 EMO) 13-6 on Senior Night to earn their 20th win, making it their first 20-win season since 2017. North Callaway (20-11, 7-2 EMO) scored seven runs in the fifth inning to break a tie at 6. Megan Schmidt led with four RBI, Kendra Pennell followed with three RBI and senior Lauren Speight pitched seven innings with seven hits, five strikeouts and two earned runs. Senior Lia Bondurant had a RBI, senior Abigail Schmidt had a hit, and senior Faith Cash scored a run as every Ladybird contributed to the offense and defense.

North Callaway plays its regular season finale at 5 p.m. Thursday at conference foe Bowling Green (10-11, 6-3 EMO).
