The Christmas Bazaar is the Mexico Activity and Nutrition Center’s biggest fundraiser and this year, it was bigger than ever.
On Dec. 6, the center transformed into a bustling winter wonderland. Tables in the pool hall, including the pool tables themselves, were full of donated items for the silent auction. And in the dining room, seniors and their families enjoyed a meal while children visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Board President Emily Lain said this year’s bazaar was the biggest it had ever been. Between the two high-ticket raffle items – a handmade quilt and a flat-screen television – Lain estimated roughly $900 was made in raffle sales alone, and an additional $2,500 was raised from the silent auction.
“We want to give a blanket thank you to every business and personal people who donated either an item or donated money to us,” Lain said. “It really made our major fundraiser really good this year.”
