Mexico boys 4x400 relay, Fisher conference champs

At the end of the meet, Mexico was on top.

The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs earned a handful of all-conference finishes in the top three of Monday’s North Central Missouri Conference meet at Ron Whittaker Track in Mexico but came in first in a couple of the last events. In the final one, the boys 4x400 relay team of Charlie Fisher, Titus Grubb, Davontae Frame and Tyler Grimes are the conference champions with a winning time of 3:31.76 and Charlie Fisher won the boys 200-meter dash with a time of 23.16, beating the runner-up time of 23.39 run by Hannibal’s Dallas Baker.

The boys 4x100 relay team finished second with a time of 44.69 — behind winner Hannibal’s 44.64 — to be all-conference. Hunter Bickell and Andrew Peuster went second and third in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs, with Bickell and Peuster earning 1600 times of 4:47.96 and 4:52.02 and 3200 times of 10:34.86 and 10:50.75. 

The girls were led by Maggie Ramsey after she finished second in the 3200 and third in the 1600, running a 3200 time of 13:01.04 and 1600 time of 5:55.78. Alexandra Terry earned all-conference honors after finishing third in the pole vault with a mark of 2.45 meters, clearing the height on her final attempt. Emma Seibert was close in the 300-meter hurdles with a fourth-place time of 52.07 as Hannibal’s Josie Peters had a 51.21 in third.

The Mexico boys were fifth in the team standings with 69 points, and the girls were sixth with 24 points. Hannibal won both team conference titles with 142 points for the boys and 157 points for the girls.
