A Mexico man was arrested Saturday for unlawful discharge of a firearm, according to a news release from the Mexico Public Safety Department.
On Saturday, Nov. 15, just after 11 p.m., MPSD responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of West Boulevard. Upon arrival, responding personnel learned that 34-year-old Gcinmuzi S. Shongwe, of Mexico, had arrived at a home in that block and was upset with people inside. According to the release, Shongwe could not convince the people to come outside and speak with him, so he fired a gun in the air one time before leaving.
Shongwe was arrested without incident at another location in Mexico just before midnight. He was processed at MPSD and taken to the Audrain County Jail. There were no injuries or property damage from the incident.
