A Mexico man is facing three felony charges stemming from an alleged domestic assault that occurred in October.
Austin Ryan Cash has been charged with second-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Public Safety Officer Zachary Neeley on Oct. 31, he was dispatched to a Mexico residence at 6:32 p.m. in response to a physical domestic.
The victim claimed Cash physically assaulted her by slapping her, kicking her down the stairs, throwing her into a mirror and door, according to police. The victim said after blocking her attempts to leave, the assault continued and Cash grabbed a knife from the kitchen, which he held to her face while choking her. The victim also stated that Cash made verbal threats to kill her.
Officer Neeley observed many injuries to the victim, including swelling above the right and left eyes, red marks and scratches to her throat and hands as well as red marks on her abdomen.
The Audrain County Sheriff's office reminded the public that Cash is still at large in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Anyone who may know where Cash can be located should call the Audrain County Sheriff's Office at 573-473-5800.
