Mexico softball loses 54 game to No. 2 Fulton


Mexico closed out a tough week on Thursday at home by losing to Highway 54 and North Central Missouri Conference rival Fulton 14-2 in five innings. The Class 3 No. 2 Lady Hornets finished with 16 hits, including nine straight to begin a eight-run third inning, to hand Mexico its fourth straight loss -- all against district opponents. Brooke Teel led the offense with two hits, and Hannah Loyd was 1-for-2 with one walk. Natalie Underwood held the Lady Bulldogs at bay through five innings with eight strikeouts, five walks, four hits and two unearned runs.
