Mexico softball season ends after rare blip to Tolton

Posted

Mexico softball doesn't usually play like it did on Thursday night. The Lady Bulldogs allowed 12 runs in the first two innings to lose 12-1 in five innings of the opening round of the Class 3 District 4 tournament in Moberly. Head coach Hanna Branch said the performance wasn't indicative of the type of team Mexico has been all year, and no matter the result, she is happy to have been with this team and the group of five seniors in her first ever season as a head coach.

“I’m proud of the team as a whole,” Branch said. “I couldn’t have asked for a better group to start my head coaching career with. Our seniors have been great leadership for our team, and I hope they leave a legacy that our returners can continue. I know that, whatever they do after high school, they’re going to do great things.”
