Sara Reed, 50, of Mexico, was arrested Sunday for driving while intoxicated, according to a news release from the Mexico Public Safety Department.
On Sunday, at approximately 8:17 a.m., MPSD responded to the 800 block of W Monroe in reference to a crash. Upon arrival, responding personnel found that Reed drove her 2005 Dodge Caravan onto W. Monroe from a side street striking a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox that was traveling in the westbound lane. The impact caused the Equinox to roll on its side.
MPSD personnel helped stabilize the Equinox while the occupants climbed out. The occupants were checked by Audrain Ambulance District and did not require further medical attention.
Reed was arrested for driving while intoxicated-persistent offender and other traffic related charges. She was processed at MPSD and taken to the Audrain County Jail for the offenses. She was not injured from the crash.
