GFWC Mexico Women’s Club met April 14, at the YMCA Café with President Gailyn Fennewald presiding. The meeting was hosted by members of the Arts and Culture Committee, Lana Parmenter, Lara Ryan and Jackie Hanke. Their project was the donation of money to Bright Futures.
The program was given by Mr. Tony Robertson from Central Bank. He gave an interesting program on historical day trips in the state of Missouri. A slide show accompanied his presentation.
Members donated Easter items to fill baskets for the residents of Missouri Girls’ Town. Valine Perll will deliver them before Easter. In May, members will have a pizza party for the girls.
Donations were collected for Missouri Girls’ Town, Our Safe Place and National Organ Donor Association. Snacks and small gift items were also donated to be used by residents of Teal Lake Assisted Living. Gailyn Fennewald and Sherry Medley will provide birthday cake to the residents of The Arbors on April 18.
Geranium orders were turned in as one of the major fundraisers for the club. The geraniums will be delivered to the YMCA on Saturday, May 3. The proceeds help support the many philanthropic endeavors of the club.
The next meeting will be Monday, May 12 at 12:30 p.m. at the YMCA.
