The Mexico boys matched up with some tough competition from Missouri and outside of Missouri.
The Bulldogs finished 0-4 at the Warrior Duals on Saturday at St. Pius X in Kansas City, losing 68-6 to St. Pius X (Kansas City), 54-15 to Fort Dodge (Iowa), 67-10 to MARLOW (Oklahoma) and 48-25 to Bentonville (Arkansas). Three Mexico wrestlers managed to finish 2-2 in the four duals and Carlos Juarez Ramirez was 3-1.
Juarez Ramirez in the 106-pound weight class had a forfeit victory but also a 7-4 decision against Fort Dodge and a 11-0 major decision over MARLOW. He was pinned by St. Pius X, which returns as a third-place team in Class 1.
In the 157-pound weight class, Grant Van Horn won via pinfall with four seconds left against Fort Dodge and a 12-3 major decision against Bentonville but lost tight 5-4 and 3-1 decisions to St. Pius X and MARLOW. Watson Azdell at 132 had a 7-3 win against Fort Dodge and a pinfall over Bentonville but was pinned the other times. Emille Scanavino at 285 lost via a 4-1 decision to St. Pius X and pinfall against Fort Dodge but bounced back in his final two matches with a pinfalls over MARLOW and Bentonville.
Kyler Carr at 138, Isai Hernandez at 165 and Grant Walker at 175 each recorded one win during the day.
