The Mexico girls had the top pair on Saturday.
In the Osage Tournament, Claire Hudson and Lucy Gleeson finished first in doubles to account for all three of the team’s victories. Hudson and Gleeson defeated a Boonville pair 9-8 (8-6 tiebreaker), Osage 8-6 and Columbia Independent 8-4.
“We went to Osage on Saturday with two doubles teams and two singles,” head coach Kim Costley said. “Five of the six players were new to this tournament. Lucy Gleeson and Claire Hudson took first place in doubles. They started the day slow and played some of their best tennis by the end of the day.”

“We were able to close out two varsity doubles matches,” head coach Kim Costley said. “We have been focusing on doubles and we saw some much improved net play. We have played seven of the past 10 days including a tournament. I was proud of the girls for battling as I know they are tired but they never wavered.”
Claire Hudson and Lucy Gleeson and Yolitza Rodriguez-Rios and Lea Hernandez-Sanchez were the doubles pairings that won 8-6 for Mexico. In singles, Hudson won 8-5 while three girls lost their matches 8-4.
