Mexico High School held its senior academic banquet on March 11. Fifty-seven senior class members were honored for their academic achievement, holding a cumulative 3.5 grade point average or above after seven semesters of course work. The annual banquet celebrates sustained academic excellence and the commitment these students have shown throughout their high school careers.
The seniors and their families shared a meal together. Following, Lindsey Yancey, MHS counselor, offered advice and encouragement about success, growth, relationships, and embracing future challenges as they prepare to graduate. She shared key advice and life lessons from experience, emphasizing that success involves growth, resilience, character, and community involvement.
Earlier in the day, MHS sophomores and juniors also received academic letter recognition at an all-school assembly, with parents and family in attendance. Eighty-four Bulldogs received the honor for a 3.5 GPA or above after five semesters. At the academic assembly, Principal Mr. Ellebracht reminded students to focus their time and energy on the things that will matter most in the long run, emphasizing that steady effort in the right areas leads to meaningful growth.
