Tiago Ruas Deluca will go from Missouri Military Academy water to Rockhurst University water.
The Missouri Military Academy senior and Brazilian native signed to swim for the NCAA Division II school in Kansas City during a ceremony on Thursday at Stribling Hall at MMA in Mexico. Ruas Deluca has four state medals with the Colonels, finishing second in the 100-yard backstroke and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in 2022 and taking second in the 100 butterfly and fourth in the 200 freestyle in 2023. He owns all but two school records, which are the 500-meter freestyle and 100-meter breaststroke.
According to athletic director Brian Meny, MMA cadets have been awarded more than $1 million in athletic scholarships this year.
