MMA loses state-ranked game to district foe Tolton

Wednesday's game at Missouri Military Academy might be the Class 1 District 4 championship game in November. The Class 1 No. 4 Colonels lost 4-0 to Class 1 No. 7 Father Tolton, allowing three goals and 10 shots in the second half. MMA was shut out for the first time and lost back-to-back games with the loss. Head coach Elliot Goodwin said MMA didn't stay affixed to Tolton (8-4) at moments on Wednesday, and there is still time for the Colonels to make up ground with the Trailblazers by the time of the potential rematch in November.

MMA (9-3) hosts crosstown rival Mexico (5-6-2) at 5 p.m. Thursday.

"We'll look forward to having them here," head coach Elliot Goodwin said. "Hopefully, it's a good showing and hopefully we can put another win on the board for us, get us back to winning ways and get some positivity back to the camp so the boys can pick their heads up. Everybody's ready for an in-town rivalry."
