A vehicle fire was extinguished by the Mexico Public Safety Department on Saturday evening.
Police say no one was injured, but the engine compartment sustained significant fire damage.
At approximately 4:38 p.m., MPSD responded to a 2005 Subaru on fire in the 300 block of N. Abat St. According to a news release issued by MPSD, flames were coming from the engine compartment.
Police say the fire appeared to have started near the battery and was likely due to a loose battery hold-down bracket.
