The Mexico Public Safety Department responded to about six vehicle slide-offs, stranded motorists or crash calls after the first winter weather of the season on Saturday, according to a news release.
In addition to the traffic concerns, there were also three calls of power lines being down and an arcing power line that burned part of an evergreen tree. All people and vehicles were safely removed from the roadways and Ameren was eventually able to repair all issues with the power lines. By Saturday evening, MODOT and the Mexico Street Department were able to have all Mexico roadways passable. There were no injuries from any of the incidents.
