Nancy Cochran

Nancy Carolyn Cochran, age 74, of Jefferson City,, passed away on December 24, at Capital Region Medical Center. Born on March 31, 1951, in Hannibal, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie (Westfall) Hale and Albert Utterback.

Nancy graduated from Community R-6 High School in Ladonnia, in 1968. She pursued higher education at Hannibal LaGrange College, the University of Missouri, and Columbia College, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to caring for others, working at Rusk Rehabilitation and the Fulton State Hospital in Fulton, Missouri, where she was known for her compassion and commitment.

In addition to her nursing career, Nancy had a deep love for gardening. She enjoyed cultivating beautiful flowers, especially irises and wildflowers, which brought her joy and peace. She also had a passion for antiquing and cherished the time she spent with her beloved dogs, Tilly and Isla.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Sarah Cochran; her grandchildren, Anabel Bailey and Oliver Bailey; and her cherished dogs, Tilly and Isla. She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua A. Cochran.

In lieu of flowers expression of sympathy may be made Nancy’s honor may be made to the Central Missouri Humane Society, a cause close to her heart.

Friends will be received 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, at First Christian Church in Jefferson City with memorial services following a 2:00, Rev. Dr. Michael Dunn officiating.
