North Callaway's offense hasn't cooled down yet.
The Thunderbirds extended their winning streak to four games with 16-1 and 8-1 victories on Saturday in Hughesville over Wellington-Napoleon and Northwest (Hughesville). Their six-game streak of scoring double-digit runs ended with their 8-1 win over host Northwest, but North Callaway (6-3) had 10 hits as part of its total 19 on the day.
North Callaway defeated Wellington-Napoleon (5-5) in four innings and had many star at the plate, including freshman Coltyn O'Neal with his 2-for-2 game with two walks and two stolen bases. He hit his first varsity home run to dead center. Tucker Sheets was 2-for-2 with three RBI, two walks and a double.
Sam Pezold pitched four innings on the mound with four strikeouts, three hits, one walk and one unearned run.
O'Neal was 3-for-4 with a RBI against Northwest (4-5), Carter Moore hit a two-RBI home run in the fifth inning as the Thunderbirds scored four runs each in the fifth and sixth inning to win it late.
Keaton Bell pitched six innings with 11 strikeouts, eight hits, two walks and an earned run.
During the day, AJ Haubner picked up his first varsity hit of the year as did Paul Russell.
North Callaway has scored 53 runs during its four-game winning streak it carries into Monday's 5 p.m. game at Class 4 Mexico (7-6), who has won three straight games.
