A Thompson woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Audrain County on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her passenger, an 11-year-old Thompson girl, sustained serious injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, a 16-year-old Mexico boy, also sustained serious injuries.
The crash occurred on Highway 22 near Audrain Road 215 at approximately 6:10 p.m.
According to the crash report, the Thompson woman, driving a 2014 Toyota Sienna, was traveling westbound on Highway 22 when the other vehicle, a 1998 Chevrolet 1500 traveling eastbound, traveled off the right side of the road. The 16-year-old driver overcorrected, causing the Chevrolet to cross the center line of the roadway and strike the Toyota.
Both vehicles were totaled. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:31 p.m by paramedic Delwyn Duncan and was transported to Arnold Funeral Home. The 16-year-old driver and 11-year-old passenger were transported by EMS to University Hospital with serious injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of people involved in crashes.
