Municipal employees across the state traded out saddles for skid steers at Mexico’s annual Equipment Rodeo

Posted

Approximately 60 competitors from across the state showcased their skills by navigating a skid loader, mini excavator and a zero-turn mower through an obstacle course at the annual Equiptment Rodeo hosted by the City of Mexico and sponsored by Martin Equiptment. Municipal employees were competing for the travelling Equiptment Rodeo Trophy, which was awarded to St. Charles County; a "Top Dawg" trophy, which was awarded Chase Hoeber of St. Charles, who had the lowest combined times; and a $1,000 scholarship to attend the National Equipment Rodeo Challenge at the National Public Works Expo in Houston, Texas, courtesy of the Mid-Missouri American Public Works Association. The scholarship recipient will be announced at a later date.
