Van-Far goes into Thanksgiving undefeated after a 43-35 victory over Silex at home on Tuesday night.
The Lady Indians won their home opener against an Eastern Missouri Conference and district foe to improve their record to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in conference. Elliott Utterback followed up her 29 points and five 3-pointers in a 44-31 win over North Callaway on Saturday with 24 points, eight rebounds and four 3-pointers. Utterback scored 18 of her points in the second to help Van-Far widen a 16-15 halftime lead and hold off Silex when the Lady Owls cut the margin to two points in the fourth quarter.
Kenya Jones had seven points and six rebounds for Van-Far, Khloe Wallace had seven points, and Chloe Zumwalt pulled down nine rebounds. Morgan Kuntz led Silex (0-1, 0-1 EMO) with 11 points, five rebounds and five steals before she fouled out, Austin Van Horn had eight points, eight rebounds and two blocks, and Sam Grateke pulled down nine rebounds.
