Recent modifications to the Park Place subdivision will eliminate one buildable tract.
Mexico City Council members approved an amendment to the Park Place Subdivision sketch plan that eliminates lot 2 at its July 13 meeting. The revised plan will alter the east line of lot 5 making it easier to develop, and lots 1 and 2 will be made bigger.
“This is all aimed at making these lots a little bit more user friendly,” Public Works Director Drew Williford said.
The 2.42 acre property was originally divided into six tracts. Plans included the construction of five single-family dwellings and offering property owners adjacent to lot 6, which is landlocked, an opportunity to purchase it to add to their contiguous property adding to a recent push in the development of housing in Mexico.
According to Williford, Furlong has indicated that he intends to sell lot six to Berkshire Estates or with lot 5.
The sketch plan for the residential subdivision was first approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission on May 5 and by city council members on May 11. Planning and Zoning approved the amended plans at its June 23 meeting.
