Richard William Berrey passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at his home in Fulton, Missouri, surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral Services will be at noon on Friday, May 9, at Arnold Funeral Home with David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation is Friday, May 9, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Richard was born to Harold and Wanda Lou (Wiest) Berrey of Mexico, Missouri, on February 14, 1951. His mother wanted to name him Rudolph Valentino since he was born on Valentine’s Day, but changed their minds and named him Richard William after his grandpa William Turner Berrey. He spent many a days at Grandpa and Grandma Berrey’s. Richard had a “great” love for all his family and friends. He loved fishing, hunting, NASCAR, Model A’s, ’57 Chevy’s and anything that went fast.
Richard worked at Wonneman’s Flowers in Mexico for his “special aunt” Lucille Berrey and Barbara Wonneman during his senior year in high school. He graduated from Mexico High School in 1969. Richard then went to work at A.P. Green Refractories in Mexico, Missouri for 36 years. He was a member of the Mid Missouri Model A Restorers Club. Richard and Brigitte went on many trips to different places in his Model A car to attend car shows.
Survivors include the love of his life and fiancé, Brigitte McCrea of the home; one son, Darin Berrey of Fulton; two daughters, Chris Keel of Anna, Texas and Anna (Rob) Hoteling of Fulton; two grandchildren, Devin and Jordan; two brothers, Gene Berrey of Thompson and Chris (AJ) Berrey of Quincy, IL; two sisters, Susan Baysinger of Washington, MO and Vanessa (David) Miller of Mexico; six nephews, Bobby Berrey of Fulton, Johnny (Carmen) Berrey of Fulton, Scott Baysinger of Robertsville, MO, Mike (Marsha) Baysinger of Marthasville, MO, Tony (Lori) Miller of Mexico and Keith Miller; two nieces, Debbie (Gene) O’Rourke of Fulton, and Kim Schoening of Fulton; several great-nephews and great-nieces; his dog, Gus; best friends, Sonny (Kay) Fink; and all his Model A Club members.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Wanda Lou (Wiest) Berrey; grandparents, William Turner and Ruth Estelle (Carpenter) Berrey, George and Violet (Reed) Wiest; and “special aunt”, Lucille Berry.
