Scarlett Marie Burson, daughter of Katie and Cody Burson, has made it to the quarterfinals for the Baby of the Year contest. Baby of the Year is a nationwide contest that started out with 155,520 babies between newborn and 2 years old.
Scarlett has struggled with her health since birth, struggling with seizure-like activity, failure to thrive, and a dairy allergy. She has been hospitalized eight times in her short nine-month existence.
Despite her struggles, Katie said Scarlett is the happiest and sweetest baby who can light up a room.
Scarlett is currently sitting at 9th place out of a group of 27 and her parents are asking the community to help support Scarlett by voting for free on Facebook. If she wins, the $25,000 prize will go towards Scarlett's medical bills.
