Mexico Ledger Publisher/Owner Tim Schmidt will continue serving on the Missouri Press Association Board of Directors.
He is currently in his fourth year on the board and was re-elected to a three-year term at the association’s 159th Annual Convention and Trade Show held Sept. 12-13 in Wildwood. The new term will begin January 2026.
Schmidt founded Westplex Media Group, which owns three other community newspapers in Warrenton, Montgomery City and O’Fallon. He has owned The Ledger since 2020.
Bryan Chester, general manager of the Columbia Missourian, was elected president of the 2026 board. He will officially take office as MPA president Jan. 1.
