STATE CLASS 1 DAY TWO: Centralia boys win state, Moore 2nd straight North Callaway state champion

For the second time in three years, the Centralia boys are the Class 1 state champions.

For Thursday's Class 1 state wrestling meet, the Panthers had all 10 wrestlers medal, including two win individual state titles, to set a new school record with 198 points earned and beat runner-up Brookfield, who had 112.5 points, by a bigger margin than two years ago. Collin Moore, at 157 pounds, won his first career state championship and second straight for North Callaway after Lane Kimbley became the school's first ever state champion last year. Moore beat Centralia's Louis Suddarth 1-0, and Gunnar Wenneker also beat a Centralia wrestler at 285, Marshall Kable, by a 2-1 decision to finish fifth with his first career state medal.

Bryson Dubes, at 106 pounds, won his first ever state title with a 4-2 win over Marceline's Reece Stufflebean. Rex Bryson became a first-ever state champion after pinning Palmyra's Brayden Pillars within the first minute at 165 pounds. Waylon Adkisson at 113, Charlie Robinson at 132 and Suddarth at 157 each finished second; Ian Tuggle was third at 215; Wyatt Adkisson was fourth at 175; and Blake Bodine at 126, Mason Adkisson at 190 and Marshall Kable at 285 each were sixth.
