North Callaway couldn't muster much against Brody Kleffner on Tuesday.
The Thunderbirds lost their Class 3 sectional game at home in Auxvasse to Fatima 4-0 after striking out 10 times in 6 2/3 innings against Kleffner. North Callaway finished with two hits while Fatima made the most of five hits. In his final game as a Thunderbird, Carter Moore pitched 5 2/3 innings with six strikeouts, six walks, three hits and two earned runs. Moore and Coltyn O'Neal each had a hit for North Callaway while Kleffner had two RBIs and his catcher Colten Schuelen had a RBI double.
North Callaway finishes the season with a 20-6 record -- its first 20-win season since going 20-5 in 2012. The Thunderbirds also went undefeated in the Eastern Missouri Conference the last two years, capping each season with a district championship for their first back-to-back district titles.
