The Community R-6 Trojans didn't score a run in its two games Monday and Tuesday at the Class 1 state baseball Final Four at Sky Bacon Stadium in Ozark but conclude a historic season in Trojan baseball. Despite losing 8-0 to No. 5 South Nodaway on Monday and then 7-0 to No. 1 Cooter in the third-place game on Tuesday, Community R-6 finishes with a 19-7 record to tie the school's single-season wins record from 2001. In that season, the Trojans sent their only other team to the Final Four.

Community had multiple-runner situations with less than two outs against Cooter in the first two innings but didn't score. The Wildcats' big blow came from Brayson Green in the third inning, when his two-out, three-RBI triple made it 5-0.

In his final game as a Trojan, senior Gavin Allen struck out seven and allowed 10 hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings and went 3-for-3 with two stolen bases. Ayden Meranda and Pacey Cope each had a hit, and Shane Woodson finished with two walks.

"We had our opportunities, but we've had games (in the past) where things didn't go our way, and we've had great breaks and great things that went our way," head coach Joel Krato said. "At the end of the day, getting here is a great accomplishment. I don't think anyone before the year started thought that Community R-6 is going to be a Final Four team. We continued to work hard, we continued to get better and we continued to believe in one another."
