A utility room fire caused moderate fire and water damage to a home March 8 in Mexico, according to a Mexico Public Safety news release.
There were no injuries, the release stated.
Just before 1:40 p.m., Mexico Public Safety Department personnel responded to the 1500 block of Kent Road to a fire. The residents said their house had filled with smoke from an unknown source.
Responding personnel found a fire in the utility room, located in the basement of the home, and the fire was contained and extinguished in that area, the release stated.
The release stated the fire started in the area of a recently washed pile of laundry covering an old electronic device similar to a Blackberry.
